NirZ_14x24_Clear_C1 or Rogers_14x24G1_Coated_C2) and you can always save a variation as a new Combined Preset named after a song that you use it for. once you have a Combined Preset that you like you alter some a kit piece like the snare and save that out as a new Combined Preset-again, a good naming convention is helpful later on so i identify the Snare, Kick, Shell Pack and Cymbal variation (i.e. Once i had what i considered a good kit built in terms of pieces and mixer settings (i kept mixer settings very basic because you can always load in another Combined Preset that adds more processing) and save that as a Combined Preset.

I have outlined this before but what i have done to build kit variations:įirst, even though i am limited to 12 instruments (dm8 module with 12 pads) i load more pieces so that, with just a change to my module preset, i can access either a splash, spock or cow bell from an accent pad, 2 crash variations from my 2nd crash (primary crash is always Crash 2 because that has Mute and is a fixed note # on the DM8), and 3 variations of China or other accent crash from my "china" pad-just change the note numbers in the module. For Hi-Hat i have the following note #s assigned and all other articulations cleared:Ĭymbal2 (crash) Mute-34 I set the volume of the Mute articulation to 0(off) otherwise it plays a new sample.
